Privacy policy.

This policy explains what personal information CheckDEV ("CheckDEV", "we") collects when you use our website and service, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

When you sign in

Your name, email address and a unique account identifier, provided through our sign-in provider. If you sign in with Google, we never receive your Google password. If you sign up with an email and password, the password is held by our sign-in provider in hashed form and never reaches us.

When you use an office

• The display name and avatar you choose, your status, and your position in the office while you are connected. Position is used live and not kept as a history; we only remember the last floor you were on, so you can return to it.
• Membership details: the offices you belong to and your role in each, and the desk you have claimed, if any.
• Content an office's admins create, such as floor layouts and room names.

Audio, video and screen sharing are encrypted in transit and are never recorded or stored by us. Recordings you make are saved on your own device.

Nearby and room chat is delivered to the people it is for and not stored. Direct messages and the office-wide chat are stored for 24 hours, so they reach people who were away, and then deleted.

When you buy

Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our reseller and merchant of record: it takes the payment and handles sales tax. We receive your billing email, subscription details and payment status, never your card number.

When you contact us

The details you enter in our contact form: your name, email, company, team size and message. If you chat with the assistant on our website and ask for a person to follow up, the conversation and the email you give us are saved so we can reply.

In your browser

We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences such as your avatar and devices. When you sign out, your sign-in is ended on our servers as well, so a copy of it can no longer be used. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

How we use it

• To provide the service: letting you into the offices you belong to and showing you to your colleagues.
• To manage subscriptions and billing.
• To send invitations and reply to messages you send us.
• To keep the service secure and working.

We do not sell personal information.

Who we share it with

We use trusted service providers who process information on our behalf, for hosting, sign-in, email delivery and the assistant on our website. Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, as merchant of record. Within an office, other members and its admins can see your name, avatar, status and where you are in the office.

How long we keep it

• Direct messages and office-wide chat: 24 hours.
• Account and office information: while the office is active. When an office is closed, or when you ask us to, we delete the associated information unless we must keep it for legal or accounting reasons.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information. An office's admins can remove you from their office at any time. To make a request, contact us.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell office owners about significant changes.
